How about an event exclusively for Cackle Cars in the LA area prior to the CHRR? A place we could get everyone with a running car together at a venue where we would be the only cars there and would be able to do practice fire-ups, practice push starts and in general everyone could get more familiar with each other and share ideas, experience etc.

Well, we have arranged to make this happen at the Irwindale Dragstrip on August 4th, 2007 (Saturday). We invite and encourage friends, fans and also the general public to attend as well, to broaden the exposure of the Cackle Car experience. There will be no racing going on so cacklecars are the entire event!

Cacklefest.com will be the host for the event and will be backed up by Steve Gibbs, Dusty McWilliams and Wayne Phillips from the NHRA Wally Parks Motorsports Museum. Set-up, or placement in the pits will be possible Friday evening (participants only). Ron Johnson and a few others will be on-site overnight for security.

Gates will open at 7:30 in the morning on Saturday and motors can be started at 10:00 A. M. on. We will stop activities at 3:00 P. M. with the objective of being loaded up and heading out by 4:00 P. M., when the area we will be using (Drag Strip pits) will start to be overflow parking for the evenings circle track program.

Since we will not be piggybacking on any other event, there will be some direct and some indirect expences. Cacklefest.com will front these costs. In order to help offset these expenses, we will ask for donations. Probably about $50 per cackle car and $20 per car load for spectators.

We encourage everyone to come out and get up close and personal with drag racing history!
