June 18, 2017 - Bowling Green, KY: Every Fathers Day weekend for the past 15 years thousands of hot rodders, nostalgia drag racing fans and cacklecar lovers make their way to Beech Bend Raceway Park for the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion® presented by AAA Insurance

Since its inception, the cacklecar portion of the NHRR has been an integral part of the show. Amid the quality racing and incredible hot rod displays fans can see these restored and recreated memories from the past throughout the pits. Over the weekend they get to see the practice push starts on the track. Then of course, the event is capped off by Cacklefest® on Saturday evening.

Racing and hot rods aside, for Cacklefest.com the story started on Friday with the Honorees Reception that before last year were held at the Holiday Inn University Plaza & Sloan Convention Center but now takes place at Beech Bend Raceway to let those at the track take part in the event.

Grand marshal Eileen Daniels took part in events during the course of the day including the honorees reception. Daniels was recognized for her decades long dedication to racing and her passion for the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA Insurance.

The event honorees were also included in the presentation including the Hilton family, Danny and Wayne Jesel, Randy Payne, Mark Williams, and Della Woods.

We now offer our coverage of the Cacklefest® and all that surrounds it.

The Honoree ceremonies were MC'd by Bob Frey and first in line were the legendary Hilton family. There are of course other families who can boast multi generation drag racing drivers, tuners, owners etc. but in this neck of the woods none stand out more than the Hilton's.

Alison Lee, who is Tyler Hilton's grandmother, got her jabs in.

Museum Curator Greg Sharp handed out the Wally.

Danny and Wayne Jesel

Larry Fisher, Executive Director did the honors.

Grand Marshal Eileen Daniels was recognized for her decades long dedication to drag racing. After losing her husband Dan, who was an NHRA Division Director, she got involved in both the reunions, but especially the one here at Bowling Green.
